Hearing the same sounds in a game each time you run it or join a multiplayer session can drive people crazy in time. If you play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) each day, then you may know perfectly well how it is to hear the same music and sound effects over and over again. In this particular case, you can turn to Music Kitten to make the game use your own audio files. You can have the game play specific effects or your favorite movie lines you've previously recorded.

The application is absolutely free, and you can have it up and running on your Windows-powered computer in under a minute. It comes in a small package, and the installation process doesn't involve any complicated settings. Furthermore, you don't have to install any special tools or services to run the application, and you don't need powerful hardware.

The application waits for cues from CS:GO, and it plays specific audio files depending on the events that take place within the game. For example, it will play a certain audio file when you're in the main menu and different files when a match starts, when you plant the bomb and so on. Of course, you can make this sort of settings in the game's menus, but Music Kitten lets you use any file you want, instead of limiting you to a pre-made selection.

When launched for the first time, the application will ask you to select the folder where you keep your music kits. Instead of using any audio files it finds in a folder, the application will look for audio files with specific names, so you will have to rename your files according to where you want to play them. For example, if you want to play a track in the game's main menu, you will have to rename the file to "mainmenu" keeping in mind that the names are case sensitive.

The application places a clean and simple user interface at your disposal, on which you can test-play your audio files for each event and situation, from main menu to winning a match. What's more, the software lets you enable and disable individual sounds, so you don't need to hear a certain sound when you plant the bomb for example. You can also specify a port manually if you don't want the application to use the default one.

If you have multiple kits you want to use, you can select a different directory at any time. The best part is that Music Kitten will "remember" your folders, which makes it possible to switch between audio kit selections on the fly, by simply selecting one in a drop-down menu, on the application's interface. Once you've made your selection, you only need to click a Save button, launch your game, and you will notice new music and effects playing in the background.

With Music Kitten working on your computer, you can hear the exact sounds you want when playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Pros

You can use your own sounds in CS:GO. The software lets you switch between kits on the fly. You can install it in less than a minute and set everything up just as fast.

Cons

You have to manually rename audio files.
